You’re Not A Real Entrepreneur, Or Are You?
UNLESS YOU wake up feeling highly motivated, are unstoppable, and take decisive action every single day, you’re not a true entrepreneur.
Do you agree?
If I’m honest (and I’m hardwired to be), when I read an online networking post similar to the above, I felt a bit sick. Isn’t there enough pressure to be optimistic, go-getting, and all things to all people as it is?
Personally, I have too many ideas to implement and find it useful to give them space to breathe so I can recognise which ones will thrive and those that are best left in my business nest (the place where I incubate all my genius ideas). I stop when I need to, and sometimes there is a very lengthy p-a-u-s-e between my ideas and action, but I am an entrepreneur.
I’ve owned buy-to-let properties for 20+ years and I run two businesses (soon to be three), plus a side line.
Reflecting on the opening sentence a bit more what I see is the subtext: “Will you please get into heated debate with me? I want some attention and I’ll do anything to get it.”
I’ve noticed a significant rise in clickbait, and deliberate disruption of the status quo in a bid to stand out, increase engagement and encourage the mighty algorithm to swing favourably. It’s a dangerous game.
American social activist and author Maya Angelou famously said: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Apart from the fact that I don’t give anyone the power to “make” me feel anything, I completely agree with her. When I post online or work with any of my hypnotherapy or coaching clients, I am taking into consideration their journey as a customer every step of the way.
I would love for them to feel empowered to make good decisions, safe to open up and dig deep into what’s been holding them back so we can release it, inspired to uplevel their business or personal life, confident to increase their profits and to recognise that everything in their business stems from them being in flow. I create a space where they can relax and activate in the right way for them.
